She graduated from Whiteland High School in 1956.
She worked as a Communications Supervisor at American Trans Air for 19 years
She was actively involved in many garden clubs, school PTA and a member of the Whiteland School Board for 9 years. She was also very involved in local politics for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents William Thomas and Etta Marie (Dougherty) Thomas and sister Kathy Tames. She is survived by her husband Edwin Koons, daughter Michelle (Koons) Chandler and granddaughters Mackenzie Holden and Mallory Holden.
Kay will be laid to rest in the Masonic Garden at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden in Greenwood.
