Kenneth "Kenny" Scott Henry II

Kenny was the 4th child of 9, (6 girls, 3 boys) and the oldest son. He played National Bible Bowl from 2nd Grade to 12th Grade and graduated from ABeka Academy. Kenny proceeded to work at U of Indy from 2016-2021 as a dish washer. In 2021 he retired after several hospitalizations, so he could relax and enjoy life more fully.

He volunteered at Indianapolis Animal Care + Control from 2011-2016, and at Indian Creek Christian Church from 2009-2020. He began working in the nursery, but especially liked helping with the spunky 3 year old class.

He loved watching animal planet, playing games on his iPad, solving puzzles, and watching movies and shows. His nieces and nephew could instantly bring a light to his eyes & a giant smile to his face. He loved spending time with them along with his furry friends, Sherlock and Watson.

Kenny loved Jesus, animals, and people. He was a 2x brain tumor survivor & 3x stroke survivor, even giving his Grandma cancer advice and loaning her his bear “Peanut” to help her through it. He never gave up. He was a kind, gentle soul who was always very thankful and happy. No matter how he felt, or what he was going through he never complained and always had a smile on his face. Even on a bad day, he chose to have a good day.

Kenny is survived by sisters: Jen (Dan) Cassidy, Jessica, Jaclyn (Jihaad) Abdul-Majid, Julia, Jamie, Jordan Henry. Brothers: Ben (Ali) Henry, Daniel Henry, his parents Ken & Johanna Henry, and Grandfather Carl Henry. Memorial contributions can be made to Indianapolis Animal Care & Control.

Visitation will be from 10 AM - 1 PM, Saturday, January 20th at Crown Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, directly after the visitation. Burial will follow the service at Crown Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St.

Kenny’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses, doctors, and staff of Franciscan Health (Indianapolis). As well as all the medical professionals that have been a part of Kenny’s journey.
