Becky, I went on FB to find you and see that you just lost Kirk, I am so sorry for your loss and know God has wrapped his arms around you. I see what a wonderful life you have had and how blessed you and Kirk were. Your strength will come from God and your children.

I am thankful to have known such a giant of a man.  I will forever remember his kindness, his heart, his giving heart, his smile, his laughter, his quietness.  Yet with all this I read the memories of those who signed before me and realize even with the Kirk I was honored to know, there was so much more to this giant.   His life touched so many people and his legacy continues and will continue for many years to come.   Yes, it was my honor to know this giant of a man.   He will be forever missed and always live in our hearts.  Our love to you Becky!

It is so hard to imagine going through life without you by my side. I miss you so much that I have a very empty feeling inside but at the same time I feel so BLESSED that God brought you into my life. I am sad about not having you with me but I'm not angry. God has been so good to us that I can't feel anger. We always said we knew there was something better than all the suffering, and pain on earth. I am glad you do not have to see or experience that anymore and you are in the presence of our Lord and loved ones. You were the strength and steady one in our family. You poured your love out on us for which we are forever grateful. Everyone has their flaws and we definitely know each others well since we have known each other for 44+ years but I can honestly say you were pretty much perfect at the way you treated and respected all people. You would be so PROUD of your sons being there for me but you would also be AMAZED the way your other sons (Starfires) have touched my heart in so many ways. They have been an encouragement to Jason and Jeff too. I will love you forever and look forward to being with you again.

So very sorry, Becky, that you and your family lost Kirk just when you are enjoying grandkids, retirement, travel, etc.  So sad, yet we have to believe that it's as God planned for your lives. I am shocked to hear of Mr Sorg's passing.  I was just talking about him to my wife a couple of days ago, having been in his "NonWestern Cultures" class in grade 7 at Whiteman JHS in 1978-79.  I also served as Manager of the Wrestling Team at WJHS in grade 8 which he coached.

He was a good, knowledgeable teacher and actually a very funny guy.  I'm the first to admit I wasn't the most stable kid but Mr Sorg always handled my "misbehaviour" with humour and compassion.

I first met Coach Sorg through all my brothers playing for him. A phenomenal coach and a great teacher and mentor too. When I be and a teacher, Becky and I instantly bonded. The passing of coach Sorg will affect many and all his former athletes will never forget him. RIP coach. You will be deeply missed.

Kirk and Becky Sorg are very special friends to us. Really more like family. God has blessed us with these caring, loving people.  Kirk's death is a reality that we don't understand and cannot explain.  It only makes one more aware of everyday life, family and friends. All are very precious. We miss Kirk so very much.

We are blessed and so thankful to be among those who are a part of your lives.  We've seen so many testimonies of how lives were touched by you and Kirk's kindness and compassion for people.   We have been recipients of that, too.  After all, did anyone else come and visit us and stay 6 weeks when we were living all alone in Germany?!! (Love you, Becky!)  So many good memories of those days together.  We are very thankful that God directs our paths and for His perfect timing in our lives.  I know it was God's hand that brought us back in contact with one another after so many years of just keeping in touch through Christmas cards only.  Our recent visits in Branson and Ottawa are even more precious to us now, and we thank God for that time we had with Kirk and you.  Thank you for your friendship past and present.  Our heart aches for you.  You are always in our thoughts and prayers.

Kirk was a favorite person of mine. I can remember standing outside our classrooms between classes and chatting about everything . Kirk was always so
 positive! What a marvelous role model as  a family man, coach, teacher and Christian!! May God bless and keep the family he loved so so much.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was truly blessed to know him, and am thankful for all of the help he gave me. I'm praying for all of you.

To remember is to love, celebrate, cry, laugh and share.  It is to honor Kirk who will always be a light in your life and in your heart. I knew Kirk loved his family so deeply and that he left a legacy because of his love for the Lord, but it wasn't till I read his obituary just how involved he was in so many lives and all that he did. I know the Lord greeted him by saying "Well done my good and faithful servant". Take time to grieve-quiet times of reflection to sift thru memories and come to grip with what has happened.  Take time for tears, not for Kirk who is at peace, but for yourselves as you realize that things will never be the same. Take time to open yourselves to God & let the reassurance of His everlasting love start to heal your broken hearts. I am lifting you in prayer & may you feel the Lord's constant care.

My heart goes out to your family in the loss of your husband, father and grandpa.  Kirk was a family man and he extended his care to his students and players.  I will never forget the gift you as a couple gave our family when you let us stay at your condo the night before we all went to Riley for Owen's birth.  Your family shares its love.  I am so sorry that we will be visiting our family in Minnesota during fall break and will not be back for Kirk's memorial.  I will be thinking of you and the man Kirk was on the journey home. Not only do I have memories of you as a teacher, but as a neighbor. I remember as a kid watching you and your sons practice baseball. That's when I suggested to my dad the idea of attaching a baseball to clothesline wire. You are going to be missed Mr Sorg.

You and Kirk are such an inspiration of what love, friendship, family and faith should be! Kirk helped to build Kevin into the husband and father he is today and for that I am forever grateful! He will be missed by many! You will continue to stay in our hearts and prayers!!

Coach Sorg made a difference in the lives that he touched.  He taught us how to live and is a role model for all who were blessed to have known him.  I have so many great memories of Coach and his family! I will always remember him for his great football mind, his quick feet (running the option in practice), but MOST of all, his ability to teach us and model for us what matters most.  His faith, his love for his family, and his love for his friends/football family mattered most.  He taught his teams how to win football games but more importantly how to win in life.  Coach Sorg won life.  I am a better person because I got to spend time with Coach Sorg.

On October 6th around 4:48pm you got under Center once last time to lead a 2 minute drive for the Starfire Football family & your family to a victory. Those last 2 minutes you lead us down the field helping us all revisit all the wisdom & guidance you provided us with throughout the years.  You also reminded us all how lucky we were to have you in our lives.  Well it was 4 & 1 on the goal line and you decided to call your own number.  You took the snap and crossed the goal line once last time and scored the ULTIMATE GAME WINNING TOUCHDOWN by entering THE HEAVENLY GATES!!!! Well done Coach!! Well Done!!! 
You were a great example to me of what Godly man was to look like!  You definitely talked the talk & walked the walk.  I want to thank you for all the great advice and memories we had together!  They will always be remembered & cherished!  I love you Coach!

I'm so sorry for you loss.  Coach was a leader of men.  He was very influential during one of the best times of my life, playing South Adams football.  You all will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers!

Coach was a great man who showed us all how to treat others as you would like to be treated. He not only set the example but lived it. I was blessed to have known coach and am all the better for it. My prayers to the family during your time of mourning.

Aunt Becky, Jason and Jeff, So sorry for the loss of Uncle Kirk. He was a role model to me, and many others because of the kind of person he was. He will be greatly missed. Our family has been through so much the last few years but Love and faith in God can keep us together.

Kirk, when you wrote our wedding vows we said: EVEN DEATH COULD NOT DESTROY OUR LOVE. That is true - I will love you forever! I THANK  God for giving us 4 yrs. & 11 mos. more to be together after we were hit by another car. When you would not respond I called out to God how badly I wanted you to live and we wanted more time together. I told God I loved Him and that would not change no matter what happened. but if you didn't make it I was going to need Him more than ever to help me. As soon as I finished my prayer begging to let you live I turned my head back to you - said your name and your eyelids fluttered. First sign of life I'd seen from you - I couldn't tell if you had been breathing. This time God took you to be with Him. I am forever grateful that God gave that Miracle on Nov. 2, 2010. We will be together again.

Becky:   So shocked and saddened when Kirk's surgery took such a sudden turn for the worse.  Words cannot express how we all felt when we heard the news.  Even though we only had the pleasure of spending time with you, Kirk, Ken & Priscella during our winter stays in Florida, we always so looked forward to it.  He touched so many lives, as is evident in the FB tributes.  Our deepest sympathy and praying for God's comfort in the days ahead.  Love you.

Very sorry to hear we lost another great individual.  I was fortunate to get to know him both in the classroom and on the football field.  Coach Sorg was a great teacher, coach, and man.  A celebration of his life is an appropriate way to remember him.

Kirk's dad Jim Frey always kept me up to date on his coaching . Jim was so proud of him and the entire family that his face would light up when he told us . It was not bragging. It was a fathers love for his son.

Mr Sorg was one of my favorite  7th grade teacher at Middlebury Indiana.  My thoughts and prayers goes out to you and your family.

Kirk was a big brother to my son Justin for years through the Big brother,Big sister program.He was such a awesome person.RIP

So saddened by Coach's passing but he made a positive impact on so many lives. He was a role model who lived his beliefs.  He will be missed.

Mr Sorg was my teacher at MIddlebury Junior High.  He always had a smile and enjoyed him as a teacher.  May God comfort at this time.  Praying for each of you.

Kirk was Junior High School Social Studies teacher in Middlebury, Indiana. I loved him as a teacher dearly.  He always made the learning process so much fun. He always had a smile on his face and was so much fun to be around.

I am so sorry for the family's loss.  May you all sense God's presence at this time.
