Lai is survived by her sons Manhong Cheung, and Man Wai Cheung; her brother Jisu Hioe, her sister Lily Juniati, her sister Lie-Min Hioe, her brother Sun Yao and her brother Jiyao Hioe.
Lai was preceded in death by her husband Yan Kwan Cheung; her father Kiang Tjhin Hioe and her mother Soe Ing Liem as well as her sister Lay Moy Yau.
Lai was member of Gerja Isa Almasih (Church of Jesus Christ) and was very devoted to her faith. She also enjoyed socializing, cleaning, and watching the news in her spare time.
A visitation for Lai will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
