Larry Nathaniel Mintze Sr

Larry N. Mintze was born November 09,1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the 3rd child born to the union of Mattie L Tyson-Mintze and Eddie Mintze. As a product of Indianapolis public School system, he attended School #49 and received his diploma from George Washington High School.

Larry was affectionately called “Shakey” by family and his many friends, his mother called him “Pal”, and he was a Boy Scout.

Larry pursued careers at Frisch’s Big Boy, General Motors, DPW, where he retired from Micro metal. He later transitioned into Larry’s Janitorial services and finished with Larry’s Lawn care services.

Larry professed a belief in Christ and became a member of Calvary Temple Church.

Larry was an Avid sports fanatic, and truly enjoyed talking basketball, his favorite team was the Indiana pacers. One of Larry’s favorite players ( whom he met in his last days) was Darnell Hillman.

Larry loved his cars! he owned a Blue Rivera, white 64 Chevy Impala, Grey Monte Carlos and four Cadillac’s.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Mintze, brothers; Eddie Lewis Mintze and Jerry Mintze.

Larry Mintze departed this earthly life on Saturday August 28, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memories forever son Larry N. Mintze Jr. (Kyna), daughters; Deborah Byer, LaShannda Mintze-McClain (Reginald Sr.), mother, Mattie L. Mintze, brothers; Donald Mintze (Karen) and Tony Mintze (Judy), sister, Monalisa Mintze, Fiancé, Irene, 9 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
