

Linda Lowe (87) passed away peacefully at home, on January 15, 2025, after a long and full life. At the time of her death, Linda was living in Denver, Colorado with her youngest daughter, Juley Jenkins. Thankfully, she was mobile, interactive and finding joy each day up until she died.
Born July 26, 1937, in Lafayette, Indiana to Lois Louise (Edwards) Lowe and Harold Elmore Lowe, Linda joined four older sisters in the family, Graceanne Francis, Madelyn Vickery, Katherine Davis, and Jane Williams. She is predeceased by sisters Graceanne, and Madelyn.
A 1955 graduate of Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, Linda married soon after high school and started a family. She was a loving and devoted mother to her four children, Jane, John, Jill, and Juley. Melinda Jane Jenkins is currently living in Glen Allen, Virginia, John Prichard Jenkins predeceased her, Jill Elizabeth Mayhew lives in Montpelier, Virginia with her husband Thomas Mayhew and Juley Catherine Jenkins resides in Denver, Colorado.
After moving from Indiana to La Jolla, California in 1972, Linda fell in love with the area, especially the ocean and distant mountains. She was a talented, adaptable, and resilient soul, working over the years as a real estate agent, Episcopal Church receptionist, massage therapist trained in Reiki and Healing Touch methods, pet sitter, and all-around organizer when things needed to get done. Linda was the proud proprietor of The Village Greenery, a garden center that she opened and ran in La Jolla. She had a discerning eye for design and was able to create beautiful spaces indoors and out.
In addition to her children and two sisters, Linda is survived by two grandchildren, Kaitlin Mayhew (husband John Beebe) of Richmond, Virginia and Hannah Mayhew (husband Raul Calzada Luna) of Houston, Texas, a great granddaughter, Astrid Beebe and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for 10:00 am, Saturday, April 5th at Crown Hill Gothic Chapel, 700 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN, 46208, followed by a reception. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery next to her son John. Memorial donations may be made to your local SPCA/animal shelter or the World Wildlife Fund (www.worldwildlife.org) to honor Linda's love of animals and nature.
