

Louis P. Marrelli, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away January 9, 2018. Louis was born in Clinton, IN the son of the late Ralph and Antonette (Vaccatore) Marrelli. He graduated from Clinton High School and Indiana State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and was at the top of his class. He was recruited at Indiana State by the US Army and was a contributor to the Heavy Water Project at Edgewood Arsenal, Army Chemical Center. He worked for Eli Lilly & Company as a Chemist for 30 years and co-authored the book, Cephalosporins and Penicillins. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Marrelli in 2014 and a brother, Frank Marrelli.
He is survived by his children Shellie Welch (Tony) and Michael Marrelli (Debbie) both of Indianapolis; grandchildren Courtney Sparks (Zach) and Samantha and Laura Welch; and dear many friends at American Village.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E. Stop 11 Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46237. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery on Monday.
