

89, of Scottsdale Arizona, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away November 25, 2010. “Lou” was born on October 24, 1921 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the oldest of eight children of Louis B. and Loretta Thieken. He leaves behind his wife Marjorie Boles Thieken and sons Tom (Kathy) and Jerry (Linda) Thieken of Scottsdale, AZ, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, and brothers Frank, George and Jack. Lou was very proud of the four years he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946. He was discharged with the rank of Master Sergeant. In 1946, he joined Standard Oil of Ohio. 20 years later, as the General Sales Manager, he left Standard Oil to join Bowes Sealfast Corporation in Indianapolis, IN. At the time of his retirement from Bowes in 1989, he was a member of the Board of Directors, Executive Vice President and part owner of the Corporation. Prior to moving to Scottsdale, AZ in 2005, Lou held membership in the following Indianapolis organizations: Christ the King Catholic Church, Sales and Marketing Executives Club, Hillcrest Country Club and the American Legion Post 0470. Services will be held Friday, December 3rd at Christ the King Catholic Church. Viewing will begin at 11:30 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM. The Church is located at 5884 N. Crittenden Ave., Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to Christ the King Church or Westminster Village, 12000 N. 90th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
