

Lucille accepted Christ at a very early age and has been a long time member of Northside New Era Baptist Church.
Lucille graduated from Crispus Attucks High School and furthered her education at Harry E. Woods's Nursing School graduating in 1955- one of six African-Americans in her class.
Lucile worked in the emergency room at Marion County General Hospital, St. Vincent's, and Methodist Hospital as a "floor duty" nurse and also in Private Duty.
Lucille received many recognitions and certificates through the years including Congressional Recognition for Service at New Era Church in April 2014 as well as official greetings from the City of Indianapolis, Office of the Mayor Honoring her on her 100th birthday in January 2017.
As the first-born in a family of 4 children, she says she was spoiled by her mommy and daddy. She has always loved cats and dogs, adopting many strays over the years. Her favorite pet dog was Bootsie who "lived in luxury" until passing of old age.
Lucille, even up through her 90's enjoyed dressing up in fancy hats and high heels. Her favorite color is yellow. Lucille always thrived on helping others. She also augmented her income by working as a real estate agent. Loved shopping at the Goodwill. Lucille moved into Alpha Home in 1999.
Lucille departed her earthly body on Sunday October 21, 2018 at the glorious age of 101; "3 months and 1 day- shy of her 102nd birthday!"
Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Moseley, her mother and father, 2 brothers, Samuel and Leroy Jr., 1 sister, Genevia Davis, and her loving niece JoAnn Wilson-Rice, who faithfully took special care of her until her departure on June 17, 2018.
Lucille is survived by Rochelle Matthews, James Mathews, Brian Davis, Linda Hart; her great-niece Cecile (Kandi) Ward and a multitude of great- great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family of Lucille Davis-Moseley wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation to the Alpha Home of Indianapolis, Indiana, Staff and residents for their kindness and love evidenced through the last twenty years of her life. Special appreciation to New Era Church, Sister Sandra Anderson, and the Sick and Shut-In Ministry for all their support and love.
