Born in Cadiz, Kentucky, to Sidney and Mary Bacon, Lucy lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. She shared her life with her loving husband, Willie (Troy) Bradberry.
Lucy spent more than three decades working at RCA as an assembly line worker, a testament to her dedication and strong work ethic. She also poured her heart into caring for others by owning and operating her own home daycare, where she lovingly nurtured children. In addition, Lucy frequently volunteered as an educator at Joyce Kilmer School 69, continuing her lifelong commitment to service and education.
Above all else, Lucy was a devoted mother and grandmother—the true superwoman of our family and its beloved matriarch. She led with wisdom, strength, and unconditional love, watching over us through every season, rain or shine. No matter the circumstance, we could always count on her—when we called, she was there without hesitation. She often knew what we needed before we did. Her presence was steady, her guidance unmatched, and her contagious laugh filled every space with warmth. She was our foundation and our protector, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, sacrifice, and love that will continue for generations to come.
She was reunited in heaven with her husband, Willie Bradberry Sr.; her parents, Sidney and Mary Bacon; her sisters, Ruby Davis-Elliot and Mary Curlin and her beloved children, Dino Thomas and Miiko Thomas, whose memories she carried with her always.
Lucy is survived by her daughters, Glenda Thomas and Nicol Bradberry, whom she loved beyond measure; her stepchildren; grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many other family members and dear friends whose lives she touched in meaningful ways.a.
