Lula Marie Roark
93, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 18, 2018, surrounded by her loving family in her home. She was born December 15, 1924 in Grove City, Ohio to Bernard J. and Mabel Scoles Trapp. During World War ll , Lula served as a civilian secretary at Lockbourne (now Rickenbacker) Air Force Base, near Columbus, Ohio. Following the war, she married her beloved husband Robert Roark in 1946, and together they raised three children while working in northwest Indiana: Timothy Roark, Teresa Shackelford, and Toni Roark. Upon retirement, Lula and Robert moved to Indianapolis in 1988, and she became a vibrant member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a fixture of the local community. She was a supporter of many charitable organizations, primarily the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Lula enjoyed puzzles, gardening, good food and drink, and being surrounded by friends and family. Always a warm and loving presence, she welcomed the significant others of her family into her life, including John, Emma, Nico and Hannah. In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by her daughters Teresa and Toni, as well as her 4 grandchildren: Aaron, Adam (and his wife Nicole), Amy, and Natalee. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Services entrusted to Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary.
