Margaret W. Shank

Margaret was born in Indianapolis to Thomas and Fern Wimer on September 26, 1939. She graduated from Warren Central High School and Indiana University. She married Dalen V. Shank on December 21, 1961. She was an extremely talented self-employed seamstress. When she wasn’t hemming pants or replacing buttons for her costumers, she was volunteering to make play costumes at her daughters’ school. She also made and mended period sensitive clothing and bedding for Connor Prairie for several years. The last few years she became involved with a crochet group that met weekly. She thoroughly enjoyed that group and each of the members. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved spending time with her family, traveling to Florida and Shipshewana, and being outside on sunny days working on her garden.

She is preceded in death by her parents Tom and Fern Wimer, her in laws Dewitt and Lefa Shank, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is survived by her husband Dalen Shank, daughters Lynn (Luis) Ramirez, Stephanie Shank, Sarah (Jeff) Collard, and grandchildren Dominique (Daniel) Brower, Manuel Ramirez, and Lucy Collard.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 1st from 5-8pm and Thursday December 2nd from 1-2pm. The funeral will start at 2pm after the viewing. All the services will take place at Crown Hill Funeral Home at 700 W. 38th St. in
