INDIANAPOLIS - Marion A. “Bud” Dudgeon, 87, of Indianapolis passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at home, surrounded by his family. He was born April 20, 1931 in Indianapolis to the late Marion and Esther Dudgeon (Jarvis). Bud was a graduate of Southport High School.
On October 11, 1952, in Southport, IN, Bud married the former Janet L. Bryant.
Bud served his country honorably in the US Navy from 1951-1955 and was a member of The Society of Cathedral Builders. He was employed by General Motors, retiring in 1996 after more than 41 years of employment. Bud enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and hosting yearly 4th of July, holiday and dinner parties at their home with numerous friends. A very adept “handy-man”, Bud was always busy with home improvements and even did the carpentry work for Bryant’s Barber Shop on Shelby Street. Bud was an animal lover, enjoyed his cats and was always out and about in the yard.
Bud was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan.
Bud is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janet; two sons: David (Cindy) Dudgeon and Daniel (Patricia) Dudgeon; daughter Sandy (Steven) Botos; sister Durene Palmore; brother-in-law Tom (Judy) Bryant; 6 grandchildren: Jennifer (Don) Swartz; Andrea Dudgeon, Allison (Justin) Hunt, Angie (Erik) Jensen, Jonathon Dudgeon, Natalie Botos; and 5 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and services.
