Ollie(Buddy)Dixon. He was the middle child of seven. Marvin attended the Indianapolis Public
School system. He attended Arsenal Tech High School and went up to the 10th grade. Marvin
used to hide under the house so he didn't have to go to school.
Marvin worked in construction most of his life. Most recently Globe Asphalt. He also
enjoyed working on cars. On the weekends when he wasn't at work he was somewhere around
the city working on someone's car. Even if he didn't know how to fix the problem he would
attempt to anyway. Every time someone in his family achieved one of their goals like buying a
house or a new car he seemed to be more excited than the person. He always insisted on
taking every new car on the highway to blow it out as he would say. Marvin also enjoyed
cooking; he really liked pork.
Marvin was all about family. He loved his family, friends and co-workers. He was always
the life of the party. He would travel to different states visiting family members. Marvin never
had children of his own but he did have two God children that he loved dearly Eric(Critter)Gray
and Bobbie(Mommie)Gray that he shared with Charlesia Wooten. He also stepped into that
father role for his nieces and nephews and younger siblings when needed. He would help
anybody in need that is just the kind of guy he was.
Marvin departed this life on May 01, 2021. He is preceded in death by his mother Nellie
Shepherd, his father Ollie(Buddy)Dixon, his stepfather William Patterson, his brother Tommy
Dixon, his sister Karen Dixon, his niece Ashley Dixon, his nephew Lavon Dixon, and his God
son Eric(Critter)Gray. He leaves to cherish two sisters Barbara Dixon and Ieshia Patterson and
two brothers Michael Dixon and Damon Dixon. Marvin had many loves in his life most recently
Vicky Williams. Marvin leaves behind a host of loved ones, family and friends and he will truly
be
