Mary Catherine Heines

Mary was born in Connersville to Philip and Julia Ann (Ransbottom) Bauer on February 19, 1932. She attended St. Gabriel Catholic Grade School and Connersville High School. She married Robert Francis Heines on November 23, 1957 in St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

She came from Connersville to Indianapolis where her first job was working at RCA and then worked 7 years at Western Electric where she met her husband. She then was a stay at home mom for many years raising her children and proudly doing all the cleaning, canning, and cooking from scratch for the family. After the last child was off to school she went back to work in 1972 at K-Mart, where she worked many jobs including the service desk which she would retire from in 1990. One of her hobbies was bowling where she received an award for the most improved bowler which she was very proud of.

Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband of 29 years, Robert F. Heines; brothers, Frank and Philip Bauer; and three sisters, Margaret Doughty, Julia Ann Pearson and Jo Ann Hendrick.

Mary is survived by her children, Diane A. (Tim) Tyree, Stephen A. (Angie) Heines, Patricia A. Heines and Shirley K. (Mark) Wright; grandchildren, Heather M. Wright and Jessica L. Wright; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all.

A visitation for Mary will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 E. 10th St. Indianapolis, IN 46219. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:30 AM. Following Mass, Mary will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.

The family of Mary wishes to express its deep gratitude to the staff at Greenwood Meadows for their compassionate and loving care of Mary Heines.
