Mary L McNamara

85, of Indianapolis, departed this life Tuesday, December 13, 2016. Mary was born May 4, 1931 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to the late Hugh and Lucille (Reiland) Method. Mary earned her degree in chemistry from Marian College and then worked as a chemist for 34 years, for Pitman Moore Pharmaceuticals, which later became part of Dow Chemical. She was a former member of the St. Augustine Guild and the Board of Trustees at St. Joseph College. During retirement Mary played bridge, enjoyed golfing and traveled to various countries. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph F. McNamara and siblings, Sr. Mary Lucille Method, OSF, Hugh Method, Jr. and William Method. Mary is survived by her sister, Margaret Hillsamer; brother, Peter Method and a host of loving nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 19th, at 11:00 am in the Bishop Chartrand Memorial Chapel located on the east end of Marian Hall at Marian University. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment follows at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to: the Lucille Method Scholarship Fund in care of Marian University.
