Mary Jane Ritter

Mary Jane Hermann Ritter, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017. Jane was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, had a strong faith, and loved being with her family. Being a volunteer at St. Matthew was a life-line for Jane, especially her husband, Joe died. Jane was so proud of graduating from Marion College and through the years found a way to stay connected to her classmates, who became her life-long friends, and Marion University.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marian Vaughn Hermann, Norbert Hermann, and Irma Boerger Hermann; husband, Joseph “Joe” Ritter; brother, Dick Hermann; and 3 grandchildren, Christopher, Karen and Sara.

Jane is survived by her daughters, Lucy (Joe), Julie, and Linda “Lynn”; grandchildren, Emily (Jeff), Patrick (Kristen), Michael (Trisha), Elle (Arnis), Charlie, Anna, Frank, and Janie (Austin); and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E 71st St., Indianapolis, IN 46220. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Tuesday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 4100 E 56th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46220 with burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church.
