

Born to Theron and Vivian Grayson on June 28, 1941, Mac was the 7th of 14 children. He was raised in Indianapolis, IN, attending Grade School #26 and (Arsenal Tech). Mac worked as a Professional Transport Operator for Consolidated Freight Ways for more than 30 years. He also served as President of the Gunslinger’s Motorcycle Club and the 25th Street Men’s Club. He moved to Jonesboro, GA in 2015 where he was cared for by his children.
Sonny was known and loved by many. He was a father, a husband, a brother, an uncle, and a friend. He is remembered as a fun loving, compassionate and generous person with a boisterous personality. He was firm, yet fair, quick witted and respected. He didn’t show partiality or hold his tongue. He loved music, particularly jazz and blues, and riding motorcycles. He had a golden smile that could light up any place and he never met a stranger. He was a human navigational system. He could tell you how to get anywhere in the states. He was known as a grill master, a mediator, a protector and an enforcer. He will undoubtedly be missed.
His memory will be carried through his large family and friends. His five children, Carla Grayson, Darrell Grayson, Lawrence Grayson, Ron Grayson, Maliq Grayson, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and his siblings Dorinna Lash, Corneilus (Boogie) Snorten, Howard Snorten, Frank & Florence Ball, David & Juanita Artis, Elma Lynch, Omie Spivey and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, six siblings and a grandson.
His memorial service will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Crown Hill Funeral Home @ 2pm with a repass to follow. Pastor William E. Coleman will officiate the ceremony.
