I just wanted to say that I know today is the hardest day of your entire life and I am so sorry and wish I could be there to help in some way, hold a hand, bring coffee, lend a shoulder. I know how much all of you love Mike and I can only begin to imagine how dearly he will be missed. Just know that you have been on my mind all day,uncontrollable, spontaneous tears that has everyone at work thinking I'm crazy. I feel so much sorrow for all of you. It will be a tough road without his smile and strength. I send my love and prayers that the Lord will help you find comfort....

We did not know what we were getting into, but your family made it very easy for us.  Guard became our life and and our family expanded. When Kim joined the color guard I had no way of knowing that she had joined the Christy family as well. Jenny and Mike have always been a loving support for my daughter. I also enjoyed the prop crew times I spent with Mike as we assembled props in the parking lot winds. Mike was a model for all dads to follow. Our love and prayers are with you.

I believe it takes a very special man to live and be happy in a house full of women, and that's exactly how Mike lived his life.  There was never a time that I saw him that he wasn't surrounded by one or more of "his girls."  From the moment Jenny entered his life through the years that each daughter arrived, first Lizette, then Briana and finally, Aleia, he was immersed in his girls' lives.  There was never a doubt he loved his girls.  It was often months between times we saw each other, but because he was so easy going and fun to be around, it was as if we'd never been apart.  I count it an honor and privilege to call him my uncle.  He will be greatly missed.  We love you Mike, Jenny, girls and family!  Love, Darl and Candi

Aleia, It has been a while since we have spoke and I am truly sorry to have learned of your family's lost. Remember all the love and laughter and he will always be with you.  My prayers are with you and your family.

When Wilma and I got married, Mike was just three years old, about the same age as my own kids.  Your kids aren't supposed to go before you, so this is especially hard for me.  Because there was such an age difference, I missed so much of Mike's growing up years.  Once Mike was married, though, and had a family of his own, when we all got together for holidays and family get togethers, there was always so much laughter and fun.  I have so many memories of how loud we used to get during our famous euchre games on Christmas Eve, the family picnics at Garfield park and sitting out on mom's front porch on Delaware.  As the years passed by, those times grew farther apart, but my love for you and your family never diminished.  I was always so proud as I watched you raise your family and love your wife and girls.  You truly were a wonderful husband and father.  We will miss you so much here, but know that God has welcomed you with loving arms.  Love, George and Wilma

Lizette and Christy family...words can not express what a loss this is to everyone and anyone who had the honor of being in the prescence of such a wonderful man and father. I remember his smile and jokes all through my days spent at at the Christy residence in high school. He was and remains an inspiration to all that knew him. Please take some comfort in knowing that where our strength runs out God's strength begins. My thoughts and prayers will remain with you.

I have found this to be so hard. Finding something to say that truly tells what I great guy he is. I love every smile and laugh of his that I ever saw. I love how he looked at me, every time, with love, admiration, pride and true love.  We were looking at him the same way. I can remember being very small and sitting on the couch with him. He would always play with my hair untill I got sleepy. I can still feel his hand on the back of my head. Love you, daddy.

Aleia, your dad was and still will be a great man.  I know that I have not spoken to you all in years but I still remember how remarkable he was. Your family will be in my prayers.

I mostly knew Mike through all of you Christy women. But because of you I know what an incredible husband, daddy, and grandpa he was. The world has lost a truly amazing person.

There are so many memories to choose from.  Everyone who ever met Dad instantly loved him.  My favorite memories are really the little things growing up that I'll always remember.  Like when we would take an extra long shower growing up and get the floor wet, Dad would always step in the water.  He always had a clean pair of socks on (of course), and he would be so mad to have to change them.  The poor man lived in a house full of women for so long, but he loved (almost) every minute of it.  And so did we.  He was our protector and our rock.  I will miss him every day of my life.

Bob & I love you Mike and will miss our dear friend. Even though I moved away to Colorado it was always as if we picked up where we left off whenever I came to visit. That is "true friendship".You and Jenny always made me feel welcome in your home, even when I kept you up late talking away. You would just fall asleep on the couch with your contacts in and then get yelled at by Jenny to take your eyes out. I remember how you would laugh at me for sleeping underneath the cushions of your sofa. My God, I love the memories I have of you and it hurts to realize that you are gone. You and Jenny have been our fiends since high school. We hung out every weekend eating pizza, listening to music and partying. The four of us went to so many concerts together and midnight movies we were a gang. Bob and I practically lived at your house. We were in your wedding and then the next month you two was in ours. We took a trip to Daytona Beach and thought we were big timing in the Elite we rented. I remember when You and Jenny left for your honeymoon you were hit by a car in your "Florida or Bust" but you just tied a rope around the door and took off anyway. You guys would not let your door being smashed in keep you from your honeymoon. So many great memories of an amazing person that left us way too early. Life sure does throw a curve ball sometimes. We will miss you.....

Then of course there are those Christy Christmas Eve's. With every Jack and Coke Mike got a little sillier and a little louder. My favorite Christmas Eve memory was when I lost a hand of Pitt and I may have let a terribly dirty word slip out. Much to my suprise Mike and Jenny both giggled and echoed the sentiment.

 

I never ever failed to smile around Mike. Mike and Jenny built a welcoming home full of laughter, and happy memories. Their home was a home away from home for me. Mike and Jenny have never failed to feel like home to me as well. I respect Mike. I love Mike, and I will miss him as he is one of the best men I've ever had the honor of calling a friend.

There has never been anyone to make someone feel more welcome at their home and with their family, I knew Mike for far to short of a time, from the time I did get to spend with Mike, I couldn't be more grateful!

The loss of Mike is a great loss to both his family and his community.  Mike was always available to lead in his community and to help those within it.  We have lost a great man.  I salute you, Mike Christy.

Mike was such a wonderful neighbor and friend.  He, Jenny, & the girls are such good people and neighbors.  We remember pulling out the lawn chairs and watching the kids put on their shows many a summer night.  Our kids have had so much fun together and as we did playing games and sharing meals.  Mike's smile was so infectious and we all have had many good times together!  May God give you peace and comfort as you go through these rough times.  You will cry, be angry, and laugh-but God is there for you to lean on and Mike is there beside him.

If you know me and Mike you know that I was a spoiled wife by a doting husband. He always tried very hard to be what I needed and give me what I wanted...and so for many holidays and occasions he was buying me jewelry. Birthdays, Christmases and Anniversaries..jewelry. I loved all the jewelry, but I asked him to stop or at least slow down as I was feeling guilty. He did slow down...and now I ask myself what kind of a crazy wife would do such a thing? Thank you for spoiling me for 36 happy, wonderful years. You were my one and only love and I really never wanted for anything especially your love.

Mike was the king of the color guard dads! His volunteerism, patience, and calm helped to get the job done and this helped to shape the lives of many young women. Thank you Mike for helping to shape my life and kindest regards to the entire family.

For anyone who knew Mike, even for just a short time, could never have a bad memory to share.  It's very sad to see him go so soon, but very peaceful knowing he's sharing laughs and good times in heaven now without being in pain or suffering any longer.  Alicia and I send our condolences to the Christy family, and Mike, may you rest peacefully buddy, you will be missed by everyone!

Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. Here's to lots of conversations of Mike and the fun and smiles he brought into so many lives.

33 years of memories to choose from. I think one of my favorite was from my birthday (maybe my 10th) at an Indian's game. I wanted to go to an Indian's game every year for my birthday. They were still at Bush Stadium and Razor Shines was my hero. He played 1st base and was the clean-up batter just like I was. I was convinced I was going to be the first female to play professional baseball, and Dad supported me all the way. The team was warming up before the game and Dad took me down to try and talk to the team. Razor Shines came right up to me and gave me the autographed ball he had been practicing with. I don't know who was more excited, me or Dad. One of many memories I will always treasure.

I have many good memories of swimming, little league games, and sleepovers at your house. my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Alicia Carson Garver

For anyone who knew Mike, there were no bad memories, only many good ones.  It's very sad to see him go so soon, but peaceful to know that he is in heaven sharing laughter and good times with no pain or discomfort any longer.  May you rest in peace Mike as Alicia an I send condolences to the Christy family, please stay strong with all the wonderful memories Mike has left us all!

I will always remember when we (Jenny's sisters and Melissa) went to see Mike at the hospital , the first time. 
 We were asking Mike if he knew Jesus, and He smiled and instantly said yes i do. And that He had asked Jesus into his heart at bible camp when he was a young boy. We talked about leaving this world and going to heaven and meeting God face to face,  and Mike said he was ready.. I will always remember that smile!! Sweet :)

Words can not express my sadness to the Christy Family.  I am sadden to know that Mike had to leave this world but I know that he is in a better place now, not suffering.  You will ALL be in my thoughts and prayers.

Mike was a great man both as a father and as a friend to the community.  Mike was never selfish with his time and would go out of his way to help anyone.  I salute you Mike.  I will miss your presence.
