

Mildred Louise Brown, 97, Indianapolis, passed into the Presence of The Lord Jesus Christ, August 24, 2016. She was born April 4, 1919 in Spencer, IN to Harry Hiatt & Katie Ferne (Carter) McKeand. “Millie” trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior & Lord when she was a youth in Spencer through the ministry of First Christian Church. She was a member of Castleview Church and past member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. She faithfully attended worship provided by Fishers United Methodist Church, where she resided at Hamilton Trace Convalescent Care Facility. Millie is survived by her sister, Maxine (McKeand) Ault; nieces, Carol (Persons) Landers, Teresa (Ellis) Hulburt, Sarah (Ellis) Hacker, Nancy (Ellis) Lamm ; nephews, J.D. Ellis, Tim Ellis, Jim Culhan & wife Becky; many great & great-great nephews & nieces. Millie was preceded in death by 2 husbands; George W. Ellis and Robert C. Brown. Millie’s last career assignment was director of filing systems for Continental Insurance Group / CNA. After retirement, she remained active doing volunteer work for the White Cross Guild of Methodist Hospital of Indiana, and for The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. Through her retirement years, she lived with her sister and performed much of her own home maintenance & landscaping. Millie was faithful to The Lord through prayer with her sisters in Christ of the Hannah Prayer Group; and, she worked out The Lord’s gift of faith to her by co-laboring in practical works of service to His local Body, as a deaconess of Northminster Presbyterian Church.
