

Clifton’s Journey on Earth
Clifton Leroy Armstrong was born on May 9, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the son of
Mary King-Armstrong and Clifton Armstrong Senior.
Clifton was employed as an Indianapolis Metro City Bus Driver and later became Metro
Supervisor. He befriended a multitude of Nap-towners, never meeting a stranger and loved
sharing about the goodness and mercy of God. He was full of knowledge and wisdom, and
always had a loving and caring demeanor.
Clifton retired after 35 years of service. He enjoyed being with his family and being in nature. He
loved gardening, and never met an animal that he didn't feed. He was a collector of MANY
things, an herbalist and a master of all trades. Clifton will be truly missed by all who knew and
loved him.
Clifton departed this life at sunrise on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the age of eighty-seven years,
eleven months, and nine days, with his loving family surrounding him. Preceding him in death
was his father, Clifton Armstrong Senior, brother Fred Armstrong, mother, Mary King-Armstrong,
brother, Richard Armstrong, and sister, Ruth Armstrong-Sanders.
Clifton leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Shirley Armstrong-Tandy (Robbie), five children,
Carlotta Armstrong-Pruitt (Willie), Dwight Armstrong, Gary Armstrong, Jacqueline
Armstrong-Sanders (Calvin), and Victoria Armstrong-Smith (Marcus), who were born of his
union to Evelyn Glenn-Armstrong. And from his union with Dorothy Kerr-Armstrong he leaves
Regina Groves-Williams (Lloyd), Desiree Groves-Rogers (James), and Stephanie Groves. He
also leaves thirty-two grandchildren, fifty-two great-grandchildren and 2
great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
