Mr. Matthew Ronald Colbert

Ronald Matthew ‘Tex’ and ‘Ice Man’ Colbert, 69, formally of Kokomo, passed away August 5, 2014 in Houston, TX. Ronald joined the U.S. Army National Guard in 1965. Also in 1965, he moved to Kokomo to start his working life.

Ronald worked at Delco Electronics. There he would meet his future wife, Lee Bearthe Williams. They wed on November 23, 1967. Ronald retired from Delco in 1998 after 33 years of work. He attended church regularly at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Kokomo. He also held a strong alliance with the Road Knights Motorcycle Club in Kokomo.

Ronald is survived by his loving children: Jeanette Colbert, Ronald (Laura) Colbert, and Renia Colbert; step-daughter April Atkins; siblings: Horace Colbert, J.P. Colbert, Claudette Richard, Linda Blackmon, Nettie Colbert, Geneive Allison, and Cecelia Carmouche; grandchildren: Brandon Colbert, Aubrianna Colbert, Cameron Colbert, and Valerie Davis; wife Christal Colbert; aunt Nettie Williams; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Ronald was preceded in death by parents; former wife of 32 years, Lee Bearthe Colbert; and brother Thomas Colbert.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 11, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, Kokomo. The Homegoing Service will start at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Reverend L.E. Anderson, Jr. officiating.
