Mr. Robert W. McKinster

Robert W. McKinster 90 of Indianapolis, In passed away September 23, 2009. Robert was born in Indianapolis, IN on February 21, 1919, the son of the late J. Ray and Ethel F. (Volkert) McKinster. Robert was a graduate of Purdue University. Robert was decorated veteran of the U. S. Army Air Force in WWII. He was an engineer at Allison Division of General Motors Indianapolis., for over 30 years. He was a member of VFW Post 98, American legion Post 500, Masonic Lodge Speedway F. & A. M. #729 and Seventh & Eighth Christian Church. He is survived by his wife Bertha M. (Zeiher) McKinster, his children Denise Bertch (Stanley) and Karle F. McKinster, along with six grandchildren: Brian, KayLynn, Kristopher and Alyson McKinster, Corey Bertch and Chelsea Hunsberger (David). He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Kevin R. McKinster, a grandson Wesley A. Bertch, half brother Joe McKinster and a sister Dorothy Suiter. Funeral services will be held Monday September 28, 2009 at 10:30 am in the Gothic Chapel of Crown Hill Cemetery. Friends May call at the Gothic Chapel Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. Interment with Military honors will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
