Donald C. Mitchell lifelong resident of Indianapolis passed away peacefully at his residence September 27, 2012. He was a proud father, loving grandfather, great grandfather, and a dear friend to all who knew him.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Calvin and Thelma Mitchell, and two brothers Bob and Charlie Mitchell. He attended Shortridge High School and committed his life to the development of the sport of bowling in Indianapolis. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War conflict. Don was a member of numerous bowling organizations, where he was proudly inducted into multiple Bowling Hall of Fames. He enjoyed golf, boating, snow skiing, and spending time with special friends on numerous outings.
Don was born February 19, 1932 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is survived by his loving children David (Lori) Mitchell, Donna (Charles) Leimgruber, and Craig (Terry) Mitchell. Also surviving are siblings Dee King and Steve (Kay) Kelly, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
