Mr. Herbert Temple Williams

MR. HERBERT T. WILLIAMS was born October 25, 1934 to the late Alonzo Williams and Maggie Ash Williams in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Herbert was the youngest of fourteen children all whom preceded him in death.

At an early age in life, Herbert professed a hope in Christ and was baptized. Herbert was united in holy matrimony to Gertrude Lacey on March 14, 1987. Herbert was employed at Jenn-Aire where he worked for 17 years and later retired from Community North Hospital. He finished his career working part time at the Surgical Center of Indianapolis until his health failed. HERBERT was an avid fisherman, enjoyed bowling, and loved the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers. His greatest LOVE and most favorite thing to do was to watch "TELEVISION".

HERBERT departed this life on Wednesday, February 4,2009 at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 10 days. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Gertrude;one daughter, Linda Avent; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren all of North Carolina; three step sons,Melvin Lacey, Sherman Lacey (Kim) and Anthony Withers(Rene); three step daughters, Pearl Brown, Judith Lacey and Shelia Dumes; 25 step grandchildren, 42 step great-grandchildren and 8 step great-great-grandchildren; a very devoted and special niece, Esther Journey; two sisters-inlaw, Margie Williams of North Carolina and Mattie L. King of Chicago, Illinois; many loving nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and many friends.
