Ft. Wayne- Retha Maxine Corbin, 91 of Ft. Wayne and formerly of Windfall, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2012 in Sarasota, Florida after complications to a stroke. She was born December 11, 1920 in Elwood, the daughter of Clarence and Etta Mae Patton.
Retha married Harry Swinford on Feb. 26, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1965. Retha then married Ted Corbin. He preceded her in death in 2006. Retha was a loving homemaker all of her life.
She was a devoted and lifelong member of Carterville Christian Church.Retha was a Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star and a Charter Member of WOE (Women of Elwood)
She was a past member of The Orchard Ridge Country Club in Ft. Wayne. Retha enjoyed playing cards;euchre and gin rummy were her favorites.
Survivors include her daughter, Pattie (Ron) Clifford of Westfield; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter; and numerous other extended family members.
Along with her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters and her son, Michael Lee Swinford.
