Nancy was born in New York to Von and Marthadeane Scherb on March 29, 1939. She was a graduate of Shortridge High School and Indiana University. She worked as a Sales Representative in the trucking industry and retired from Conway Central Express. Nancy was involved in the Indiana Historical Society and the Red Hat Society. She also tutored at elementary schools.
Nancy loved life and took pictures of sunsets and the moon. She frequently wrote poetry and enjoyed painting pictures.
Nancy is survived by her children Debra Koertge (Rick), Linda Barbagallo (Sal), John Rush, Barbara Schaffer (Kurt), six grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a sister Carolyn Whiteside (Frank), and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service for Nancy will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208.
