60, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, while in the company of her sisters, Jane Dausman and Margy McCormick.
Nancy was born in Owensboro, KY on October 25, 1951. She was raised in Evansville, IN, graduating from Rex Mundi High School and Indiana University.
Nancy enjoyed working and living in a variety of places especially Rockport, TX. She worked for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Co. for 23 years, finally settling in Louisville, KY to work in their corporate offices as an in-house corporate event planner. She retired in 2003 and moved to Indianapolis to be closer to family.
Nancy was especially fond of working in her garden and creating projects on her computer. But her first love was always her nieces and nephews. No matter where they were, she always made a special effort to participate in their lives.
She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Eleanor Sargent. She is survived by her sister, Margy McCormick and her husband, Mike; her sister, Jane Dausman and her husband Brian; niece Claire Bolles and husband Justin; nephew Brooks McCormick; niece Katie Dausman; nephew Ben Dausman; niece Krista Stewart and husband Chip; and great-nephew Zackary Stewart.
There will be no services but a private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to either The Center for Health Aging/St. Vincent’s Foundation, 8402 Harcourt Rd., Ste. 210, Indianapolis, IN 46260 or Boone County Master Gardeners, c/o Mary Milberger, 1515 Village Walk Dr., Zionsville, IN 46077. (This donation is not tax-deductible.)
