Pamela Joyce Hudson Green was born to Rubarb Boyd and Milton Batemon on June 2, 1956, in Indianapolis, IN. She attended Public Schools, graduating from Shortridge High School. After high school she attended the Indianapolis Airport Skills Center, aka OIC. After completing her training, she went to work for Fort Benjamin Harrison, and worked there for 14 years in retired pay. In later years she worked for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and Indianapolis Public Schools before retiring, as a result of health issues.
Pamela accepted Christ at an early age, and attended the Eastern Star Church, where she remained a member until her death, worshipping under the late Reverend William M. Robinson and Pastor Jeffrey A. Johnson Sr. In 1988, she married Michael Hudson and after several years of marriage they parted. Then, many years later she met and married Benjamin Green (Ben) and remained married to him until his death.
Pamela was a quiet easygoing woman, until you ruffled her feathers. She did not talk a lot but was a good listener and she paid attention to everything. She had a loving and generous heart and was always willing to help in times of need. Even when hurting and sick herself, she was rich in deeds. She also, was very nurturing and she kept and spoiled everybody's babies.
She was the baby girl to her mom, and she made sure that everybody knew she was the baby girl. Pam, loved shopping, going to garage sales, working large puzzles, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends, but her greatest loves were her two sons and her grandchildren.
Pam spent the last 20 years of her life battling Lupus, Heart Disease and Kidney Disease and in the midst of her painfilled days, her family was still her focus and greatest joy.
She was preceded in death by her mother; Mrs. Rubarb Boyd, her husband; Benjamin Green; one sister; Bobbie Boyd; three brothers; Jimmy Boyd, Dewayne Batemon and Darren Batemon; and one grandchild; Lyric Hudson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her father; Milton Batemon (Paula); two sons; Darnell Johnson and Christopher Hudson; five sisters; Carolyn McNeal, Vera Woodgett (Greg), Arnetta Batemon, Shirley McNorris and Brittany Batemon; four brothers; Larry Boyd, Gregory Batemon, Melvin Batemon and Terry Batemon (Denise); and five grandchildren; Darnell Johnson Jr., Zion Hudson, Chantz Hudson, December Hudson, Kymberlee Hudson and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She will be greatly missed by all!
A visitation for Pamela will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Eastern Star Church, 5750 30th St., Indianapolis, IN 46218, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM.
