Patty was born in Pontiac MI to Clara & William Lawless on April 11, 1933.
A few years before the start of World War II her parents relocated their family to Indianapolis. She went to Joan of Arc parish grade school, and St. Agnes Academy high school (Class of ’50). She married Donald K. Baughman in 1952, and they were blessed with twelve children.

One of her favorite pastimes was working one day a week at Society St. Vincent de Paul, sorting and processing donated goods. She routinely volunteered time to support the activities of Our Lady of Fatima Retreat House. Patty was devoted to the Tamarindo Foundation for many years, making missionary trips to El Salvador to deliver donated supplies to an ‘adopted” village
In retirement Patty developed a passion for travel; visiting Europe, Central America, Asia, and many US locations. Whenever possible she planned a trip with visits to sacred sites, including: Jerusalem, Knock (Ireland), La Sagrada Familia (Barcelona), Lourdes (France), Medjugorje (Bosnia), Notre Dame (Paris), and Vatican City.
