

Greenwood, IN – Lawrence (Bud) Alfred Meyer, age 86, passed away, June 27, 2015, peacefully at their North Ft. Myers home.
Patricia (Patty) Louise Meyer (Denny), age 81, passed away following a battle with ovarian cancer, July 6, 2015, at their Greenwood home, while under hospice care and surrounded by family.
Bud and Patty celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary, July 7, 2015, together peacefully in heaven.
Two daughters, Kathleen M. Ashworth, Greenwood, IN, and Paula June Meyer, Indianapolis survive them. Bud and Patty both adored their four grandchildren, Samantha G. Ashworth, Alexis P. Goedde, Marta E. Goedde and Andrew J. Goedde.
Bud started his career with the military and a veteran of World War II in both the Armed Forces and US Marines. As a member of St. Joe’s Catholic Church on the hill, he attended the School of theology at Saint Meinrad Seminary.
Patty graduated from New Albany High School and completed a degree from a Business School in Louisville. She worked tirelessly by her husband’s side to create a successful real estate business.
Together their real estate legacy began at the Star Motel in New Albany, IN. From there they moved to Greenwood, Indiana to purchase the Southwood Mobile Home Park. Their portfolio of businesses included the Blues Brother’s Car Wash in which the entire family became involved.
Bud was known for creating lifelong friendships throughout his professional career. Both he and Patty had a passion for boating that brought both joy and peace to balance their careers. They loved sharing these excursions with his family and friends on Lake Monroe and in Ft. Myers Florida. Above all, both were amazing and unforgettable grandparents.
Patty was very involved in the Girls Scouts as a leader for many years. She was a member of the civic sorority Phi Beta Psi, Meals on Wheels and volunteered for the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015 with from 11 AM to 1:00 PM at Little and Sons Stop Eleven Chapel, with funeral services to follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Lawrence and Patty will be interred in a family plot at Greenwood Cemetery and Lawrence will be receiving Military Honors.
Memorial contributions can be made in honor of the Meyer Family to “Warrior’s Hope, Inc.” for a Veteran’s Memorial Monument at Greenwood Freedom Park.
