Patricia Ann Woodrome, lovingly known as “Farmar” to her grandchildren, and Patty to her friends, passed away peacefully at home. We’re fairly certain Heaven wasn’t quite ready for her firecracker entrance.
Her sister, Donna Scofield and niece, Angie Biles, were awaiting her arrival with open arms.
Patricia was born May 12, 1954 to the late Clara and Donald Seibert. She was the sister of seven siblings.
Patricia had a personality that could fill any room. She was witty, a "little" mischievous, and Hell on wheels.
Patricia was stubborn in a way that deserves its own category. Once she made up her mind, there was no changing it. Her daughter lovingly called her “alley cat,” because she seemed to have more lives than anyone could count. Time and time again, she proved she wasn’t going anywhere until she was good and ready.
She had a sharp wit and a sense of humor that kept everyone on their toes…and our toes are TIRED.
She loved BINGO but she loved winning even more. If luck wasn’t on her side, let’s just say she still somehow managed to leave with a prize anyway. That competitive spark was all part of her charm.
She also never met a “treasure” she couldn’t keep. Farmar was a proud pack rat who believed you just never know when you might need something again. Of all the things she collected, we would argue men were her favorite. She always seemed to have a boyfriend or two (heck, who are we kidding…or four) who appreciated her flirtatious personality. It got her in trouble quite a bit during her stay at the nursing home, but we gave her some grace.
Farmar enjoyed her Marlboros, her drinks, and she absolutely knew how to party. She lived life on her own terms.
Halloween was her favorite holiday. She loved to indulge in the fun, the candy and satisfy her sweet tooth... but honestly, she would sneak candy year round. If there was candy nearby, it didn't stand a chance.
She was an incredible cook, famous for her nachos, pork roast and mashed potatoes. You know, the kind that of recipes no one will ever quite replicate no matter how hard they try (and trust us, Tamara has tried). Family gatherings will never taste the same without her in the kitchen…but at least the liquor cabinet lock can come off.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Tamara Mottau and her son-in-law Matthew Mottau, who she absolutely treasured; her grandchildren, Levi (Tatiana), MaKayla, Samuel, Emilyann and Cassidy; and her pride and joy of a great-granddaughter.
She will be dearly missed by her nephew Gary Don (Amber) Biles, her great niece Paula (Neil) Michelle Naccarato, her great nephew Terry Don Biles, her great-great niece Angie, and a host of relatives.
Of all the roles she held in life, being “Farmar” was her favorite. She lived to see her great-granddaughter Annie, and oh, did she love that little princess. Annie softened even the toughest edges of her stubborn, alley cat spirit.
Patricia leaves behind a very dysfunctional family who will forever tell her stories about her stubborn streak, her BINGO “victories,” her unmatched cooking, her saved treasures, and the bold, unforgettable way she lived.
In true Farmar fashion, she probably already found the best seat in Heaven, claimed a prize she didn’t technically win, and is reminding everyone up there that she does things her way.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to all of the AseraCare and Danville Regional Rehabilitation staff, but a special thank you to her hospice nurse, Jamie, for the comforting care of her during her final days.
A Private Celebration of Life will be held with immediate family only.
