

Paul Wayne Barclay died peacefully June 23, 2025, at age 99. He was the son of the late Forest and Crystal Barclay of Greensburg, Indiana. Paul served as a private in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII from January 1945 to the end of the war. You can view his war stories on YouTube (search Barclay Once a Soldier). He returned to Greensburg and later used the G.I. Bill to study heating and air conditioning.
Paul was a top salesman for many years at Hall-Neal Peerless HVAC in Indianapolis, until starting his own business, Barclay-Holland, Inc., in 1970. He retired in 1997.
Paul loved to travel, snow ski, and play tennis…winning a USTA Senior Division national doubles championship in 1991. He was a long-time and active member of the Gyro Club of Indianapolis.
In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his wife of 48 years Harriett Ann (Hall) Barclay and brother Robert Barclay.
In 2001, Paul married Karen (Black) Barclay and enjoyed many happy years together traveling and entertaining family and friends.
Paul is survived by his wife Karen (Black) Barclay; sister Charlotte Vinup; children, Paula Barclay Cook (Christopher), Kristin Kay Barclay (Dan Reed), Jay Barrett Barclay (Sharon), Jeffrey William Black (Tracy), and Jennifer Loholdt Warner (Christopher); 12 grandchildren, Philip Barclay (Jacqueline), Mackenzie Barclay, Joseph Barclay, RJ Phillips, Chelsea Phillips Parrish (Blake), Alexandra Cook, Mackenzi Black, Lauren Black, Alexandra Black (Brandon Clark), Paige Loholdt, Aden Loholdt, and Ethan Loholdt; great-grand daughters Sophia Barclay and Delilah Clark; and many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held on June 30, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s name may be made to Scouting America.
