

Our Lord Savior, Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant, Paul Robert Meyers.
Paul Robert Meyers was born in Fort Wayne, IN on July 8, 1926 to parents Harry J. and Alberta M. Meyers and he was reborn as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism on July 15, 1926. He was confirmed in the Christian faith and was fed the life-giving body and blood of Jesus. He was united in holy marriage to Penelope Louise Meyers on July 29, 1998 and blessed with 22 years of married life together. Penelope was Paul's third wife and he always said he saved the best for last.
Paul attended Butler University before serving his country in the U.S. Army until 1947. After serving in the military, he graduated from Marian College in 1969. Paul drove a school bus for many years. He also worked for Indiana Marine in Service Operations for over 20 years. He then went on to work for CIC Enterprises, Network Express and Shurgood. Paul was a member of the VFW Post 98, American Legion Post 497, Amvets Post 99 and Forty & Eight Post 331 in Brownsburg, IN. He was also a member of Advent Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zionsville, IN. Paul participated in the 500 Festival packet pass-out for 18 years.
God called Paul Robert Meyers home to heaven on May 15, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Penelope "Pat" Meyers; children, Cynthia Haverstick, Chris Huff; stepson, Brian Keitell; grandchildren, Elaina (David) Mundt , Paula (Chris), Lisa (Jeff) and John (Alisha) Haverstick; great grandchildren, Adam (Rachel), Alax, Alan, Johanna, Marcus, Nathaniel and Andrew; great great grandchildren, Nami and Robin. Paul Robert Meyers was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harry Meyers; son-in-law; Neil Huff and nephews, Martin, Don, Flint and John.
A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 11:00am at Advent Evangelical Lutheran Church, 11250 N. Michigan Rd, Zionsville, IN 46077. Burial at Marion National Cemetery will follow.
