 Obituario de Paul William Traub
Paul W. Traub, 77, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 surrounded by his beloved family. Oldest of nine siblings, Paul was a graduate of St. Philip Neri grade school and Cathedral High School. He earned his engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati and his master’s degree from Purdue University. Paul was a longtime member of St. Pius X parish, where together with his wife JoAnn he was a strong supporter of Catholic education and a prayerful member of a small faith sharing group. He served on the parish Board of Education as well as the North Deanery Board of Education. Paul had retired after a long career as an engineer with P. R. Mallory and Emerson Electric. He demonstrated to his family the value of hard work with purpose, never putting his work above the needs and nurture of his family. His commitment as the ultimate protector of his wife and family was unequaled. In retirement Paul was the most devoted Grandpa and Pop-Pop to his seven grandchildren. Paul loved spending time cheering them on at their sporting events, school activities, and dance recitals. Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years Mrs. JoAnn R. (Lutz) Traub; children Dan (Tracey) Traub, Brian (Elaine) Traub, and Cindy (John Kindschuh) Traub; beloved grandchildren Nathan, Caty, Ryan, Andrew, Maggie, William, and Anna; siblings Jerry (Betsy) Traub, Anne Thompson, Pat (Alison Kothe) Traub, Joan (Mike Martin) Traub-Martin, and Martha (Alan) Nelson. Paul is preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Margaret Traub, sister Helen, brothers Donald and Timothy, and brother-in-law Al Thompson. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1:30pm. COVID guidelines including masks and social distancing will be required. We welcome those unable to join in person to watch via livestream at facebook.com/spxparishindy. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. A celebration of Paul’s life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Pius X Catholic Church, Bishop Chatard High School, or the United Stroke Alliance at www.unitedstrokealliance.org. Expressions of sympathy and loving memories for the Traub family may be shared at www.feeneyhornakkeystone.com.
