Pauline Rowe Matthews

Pauline was born in Elba, Alabama to Bud Rowe and Susie Patterson Rowe on November 22, 1948. She went to Elba High School. She married Frank Matthews on November 24, 1973. She graduated from Oakland City University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She worked as an accountant for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service for 20 years where she received several awards pertaining to her expertise as an accountant. She was a member of the American Society of Military Comptrollers.

Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Susie Rowe, and her siblings: Addie Jenkins, Hubert Rowe, Luenevia Smith, Ollie Martin, Catherine Rowe, and Ulysses Rowe.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Matthews, ex-husband and friend Frank Matthews, siblings: Eugene (Sonny) Rowe, Sara Nell Warren, Annette Adams, Jeanette Holmes, Lorene Stelly and Corene Cooper. Numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Crown Hill Cemetery with Pastor Adrianne Holmes and Pastor Patrick Gillis officiating. Arrangements are by Crown Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, the Breast Cancer Association, and the Gastric Cancer Foundation. The family of Pauline wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her special friends, Pinky Hayes and Celia Morrissette and her niece, sister and friend Linda Gandy.
