Peggy Montez Smith was born, April 18,1954 to Betty Jo Beadles Carter and the late Clarence Carter in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Peggy was a graduate of Arsenal Tech High School of Indianapolis, Indiana. She was employed with Riley Methodist Hospital for over twenty years when she retired in 2016.
Peggy married the love of her life, Percy Smith Jr., June 29, 1974.
Peggy was a woman that was content with her life. She was an easy going woman. She loved taking care of her family. She was an extraordinary caregiver. She would always worry about others. She loved children and working with them. She was easy to talk to, knew how to calm your nerves. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter and getting their nails done. She enjoyed going out to eat for special occasions, sewing and making knotted blankets, other than that, she was a homebody.
She wasn’t a materialistic person, she enjoyed the simple things in life, which brought her Joy.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Clarence Carter, her grandmother, Joella Smith, her grandfather, Rev Charles Woodson Beadles, and her step grandfather, Herman Johnson.
