Peter Joseph Sundling, 83, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Pete was born on March 18, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Mary & Arthur Sundling.
Pete graduated from Cathedral High School in 1956, then went on to attend college in Dayton, Ohio. In his early years, Pete worked in Ft. Harrison in their payroll department. He started his career in sales, doing this until retirement. He worked for Kent Industries, Publix Office Supplies, & Plumcreek Golf Course. Pete loved all sports, he was known to be a huge Notre Dame fan. GO IRISH!
Pete is survived by his sons; AJ Sundling (Jennifer) & Steve Sundling (Caryn), 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his nephew; Mark Smith (Claire), his first wife; Judy Courtney, & his third wife; Pat Culley.
Pete was preceded in death by his father in 1947 & his mother in 1991, his siblings; John Sundling & Barbara Coomler, & his second wife; Becky Sundling in 1996.
A visitation for Pete will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5884 Crittenden Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Pete will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery next to his second wife, Becky.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marion Co. Humane Society.
