With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Phillip Scott Reynolds, who left this world far too soon on February 24, 2025, at the age of 42. Phillip was a force of love, light, and laughter—someone whose presence could brighten the darkest days and whose kindness knew no bounds.
Born on September 22, 1982, Phillip brought joy from the very start. A proud graduate of Arlington High School’s Class of 2000, he was known for his infectious laughter, warm heart, and unwavering dedication to lifting others up. He was pursuing a degree in occupational therapy, driven by a deep desire to help people reclaim their independence and live fulfilling lives. But Phillip didn’t need a degree to make a difference—he was already changing lives every single day, offering love, encouragement, and support to anyone in need.
The greatest joy of his life was his family. He leaves behind his beloved husband, William Anderson-Reynolds, and his precious daughter, Phylesia Symone Reynolds, who were the very essence of his happiness. He also leaves his loving father, Eric Reynolds (Yulonda); his mother, Evette Mayes; his brothers, Pierce Wilder and La’Mont Marcel; his grandmother, Roberta Reynolds; and his grandfather, Phillip A. Mayes. A large and loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless dear friends will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Phillip had a way of making every moment special. His larger-than-life personality, boundless energy, and signature laughter filled every space with warmth. He was the heart of every gathering, bringing people together effortlessly, making everyone feel seen, loved, and valued. His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his love and light will never fade.
He is now reunited with those who went before him—his grandmothers, Frances Mayes, Pearl Mayes, and Anna Mae Thomas; his uncle, Michael Reynolds; and his grandfather, O. Robert Reynolds Jr. Their love will surround him once more.
Phillip Scott Reynolds was a rare and beautiful soul—a devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished son, a loyal brother, and an irreplaceable friend. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in the love he gave so freely, in the lives he touched, and in the countless memories he left behind.
Rest peacefully, Phillip. You were a gift to us all, and your love will echo in our hearts forever.
