Rachelle Denise Wheat

Rachelle Denise Wheat was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Paul Wheat Sr. and Debbie Wheat on March 13, 1988. She grew up with a strong sense of community and a dedication to family that would define her life. She graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), where she earned her degree while balancing work and family life.

For 13 years, Rachelle served as a dedicated employee for the State of Indiana. Her commitment and tireless work ethic earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. She will be remembered for her deep kindness, her unwavering willingness to help others.

Outside of her professional life, Rachelle's world revolved around her family, especially her beloved daughter, Leilani. She was a devoted mother whose greatest joy was creating a loving and supportive home. She cherished time spent with family and friends, enjoying cozy movie nights and exploring new local restaurants.

Rachelle Wheat, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Rachelle’s warm presence and loving memory will be cherished forever by her devoted daughter, Leilani Miles; her loving brother, Paul (Tiana) Wheat Jr.; her adoring nieces, Payton, Paisley, and Pailynn Wheat; her nephews, Prince and Paul Wheat III; her aunts, Rose Bennett, Lori Bennett, Rose Wheat, and Florine Wheat; her uncles, Jerome Bennett and Edward (Jackie) Wheat; and numerous cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on November 9, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Crown Hill Funeral Home, located at 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN, 46208.

Following the visitation, a memorial service will take place at the same location, beginning at 12:00 pm.
