Ralph was a very strong friend. Always a man I could depend on in every situation. He was a great follower of Christ. ❤️

Such a great friend for the many many years since our years at NorthCentral University. WE MISS YOU, DEAR RALPH!

I used to run into Ralph at the store.  He'd approach me with a smile and say "I know you, but I can't remember your name".  I'd tell him that my name is Sandi and he'd walk away saying "I'll remember next time".  One day, I just said my name is Sandi, like the beach.  He chuckled and the next time he saw me, he said "Sandi, like the beach".  I'll miss seeing him.

I love Ralph and his funny ways. Most of all I loved his love for the Lord. Ralph had many of God’s fruits of the Spirit. And he was blessed to share them with everyone. I will miss you Ralph until I see you again.

Ralph was our first American friend that we made in this new land. I, as a graduate student from China came to the US in year 1996. As foreign students, we had mixed feelings about this new land. On one hand, America was beautiful, bountiful, and provided a lot of new things to learn. On the other hand, we were challenged by the simplest of obstacles.  For example, we did not have a car, or even the knowledge of how to drive. The most challenging part, however, was our limited English skills. On the vast open land in Indy, an invisible barrier isolated us new students into culture islands. 
One day we heard there was an English class at church and we eagerly went. It was God‘s plan that we met Ralph and Judy on my first day to the class. I could still remember the soft sunshine beating into the classroom. A storm had just passed, and the late afternoon was refreshed by a cool breeze. When the class was over a tall man walked in from the front door. That was Ralph. He was trying to find a Chinese English interpreter to help his wife to communicate with to Ping, a Chinese art professor. Ping could only say a few English phrases. The conversation was difficult. Then I served as the interpreter. It could easily have turned into an awkward superficial conversation due to the language barrier. However, Ralph did not make it awkward; he made it FUN. Throughout the conversation we laughed a lot and we hugged when we said goodbye. 
We were surprised when Ralph offered us to have dinner at their house the following weekend. 
Ralph, God‘s love in you and through you has overcome languages and cultural. It has reached the hearts of many families and reformed their values and lives.


Ralph was a great man. He was also a great husband. I remember that Ralph liked teaching the other residents about the Bible. He liked taking showers. He always liked to be clean. He was a strong person who liked to be independent. I miss him. As a resident he understood and respected my job to care for him and the others. May He Rest In Peace.

I feel so blessed knowing and going to church with Ralph and his family. He always had a smile and something to say to keep a person laughing.  He was always teasing me about someone asking him if I was his sister.   Our family spent many times visiting with them.  Heaven gained another saint and earth loss one wonderful godly man. Prayers for his wife and wonderful family as they deal with their loss. 

While I was the Facility Director at Lakeview, Ralph came in one day to check out one of our vans to do some ministry.  We had them steam cleaned the day before and there were fan dryers in the back of each one.  Without looking he got into the van, started it and drove off.  Never disconnecting the power cord or closing the rear doors-fan still running.  Stopped him halfway across the parking lot dragging the cord behind.  
Wherever Ralph was a smile and laughter followed.  I'm sure he is smiling down from Heaven.  Enjoy your reward Ralph.

Ralph was such a hilarious guy.  He would come in the Lakeview Church office and entertain us girls with a joke or two and grab a cup of coffee. One time we were saying goodbye to a coworker and we got Ralph to come and do the entertainment as Elvis!  Full costume, hair and singing!  He was a joy to  know.
