
Reba Nell Heatherly Roberts 91, passed away on May 29, 2016. Born January 16, 1925 in Shaw Bend Community, San Saba, Texas, she was the daughter of the late John Stewart and Lela (Magee) Heatherly, who were descendants of pioneer West Texas settlers in San Saba and Mills County Texas. Reba grew up in East Texas, attended Leverette Chapel High School, and Kilgore College, Kilgore Texas. Reba married World War II Veteran James Wesley Roberts, Lockport, New York on April 8, 1946. They lived in West Lafayette, Indiana for 3 years while Jim earned his Mechanical Engineering Degree in 1949 from Purdue University. She lived in Indianapolis, IN. the rest of her life. surviving are her son, James Stewart Roberts (Barbara), of Indianapolis; daughter Karen Louise DeBondt (Richard) of Greenville, South Carolina; two Grandsons, Scott Drury (Holly) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Brad Drury (Nicole), of Belmont, North Carolina; and one Great Grandson, Cole James Drury, Belmont North Carolina. Reba's brother, Wayne Heatherly, preceded her in death in 2013. Reba loved her family, bridge, travel, friends and volunteer activities, which included Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Secretary of Liberty Neighborhood Girl Scouts Organization, PTA of several schools, Women in Neighborhood Services (WINS), Nora Community Council, Treasurer, Pennsylvania Heights Association, Brooke's Place for Grieving Children, Brooke's Place Auxiliary and it's fund-raising Bridge-A-Rama tournaments.
