

Ric was born on March 14, 1936 in Artesia, California, to Frank and Lorraine (Wilkins) Chilson. He grew up in southern California and graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California in 1970 with a degree in Fine Arts. He spent 40 years as a professional photographer. Ric married Donna Freeman, the love of his life in 1967 after meeting her while working in Disneyland. Together they built a loving home filled with laughter and memories.
He was preceded by his wife of 52 years, Donna. He is survived by his son Thomas Chilson and his partner Silvia, daughter Heather Chilson Bradley; and grandchildren Vincent Bradley and his wife Erika, Nico Bradley, and Parker Richards.
Ric never met a stranger, he was known for his gift of gab and his ability to tell stories to anyone who would listen. He was passionate about photography, loved a good book and spending time with those he loved and cared about. He will be truly missed.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday October 24th, 2025 at 10 am, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.

A Family and Friends Memorial Gathering will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana, 46208. This gathering will take place on October 24, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Graveside Service with Full Honors will follow at the same location on October 24, 2025, starting at 12:00 pm.
