Robert Junior Adkisson

Robert was born September 30, 1945 in Danville, Illinois to Annie and Bruce Adkisson.

Robert is a veteran of the United States Army. Robert worked at the Nuclear Power Company in Illinois and retired from maintenance at Pebble Point Apartment and Fisherman’s Village in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Robert enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and riding motorcycles.

Robert married Carol on October 11, 1996 after meeting in the early 1980’s. Robert had two sons from a previous marriage, Robert of Danville IL and Derrick (Lincoln) of Indianapolis. Robert and Carol have 4 sons: Jeff (Abigail) of Waco TX, Dennis (Allison) of Champaign Il., Donald (Kathy) of Springfield IL,; Carol gave birth to his youngest son, Zachary (Brooke) of Indianapolis, IN. Robert has 3 daughters from previous relationships: Michelle of Killeen TX, Angela of Jacksonville FL, L’Oriel of Palmetto FL: and Robert and Carol has a daughter Dawn (Johnny) from Indianapolis IN. Robert has 41 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. A host of family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Annie and Bruce; 4 sisters: Mauretta, Evelyn, Irma and Katie; and 3 grandchildren: his fun-loving grandson, Anthony, his adventurous and much like him, a motorcycle enthusiast grandson, Sean and his sweet and beautiful granddaughter, Anbriel who loved to work on cars with her grandpa.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 12:30PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home. Immediately following service, Mr. Adkisson will receive military honors as he is inurned at Crown Hill National Cemetery.
