Robert L. Mason

Robert L. Mason 88, passed away peacefully June 19, 2013. He was born in Guilford, IN to the late Joseph and Ruth Mason. Robert was a career educator with the Franklin Township School System, first as a teacher from 1949-1960; vice principal from 1960-1963; principal from 1963-1966; and as Superintendent from 1966 until his retirement in 1982. He was a graduate of Purdue University and a WWII Navy Veteran. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Eljean Mason ; children Jeryl Lee (Joe) Colter, Jana (John) Gruner, and Darla (Frank) Terry; grandchildren Andrea Carrothers, Allison Bodine, Adam Gruner, and Mason Terry; twin great grand-daughters Elise and Marin Bodine; brother, Roy Mason; sister, Naomi Hostetter; and sister-in-law, Helen Mason. Visitation will be held Sunday June 23rd from 2:00-6:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home 4901 E. Stop 11 Rd Indianapolis, IN 46237. Funeral Services will be held Monday June 24th at 10:30 AM at Southminster Presbyterian Church 9950 Southeastern Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46239. Burial Orchard Hill Cemetery, Wanamaker, IN.
