

He is survived by his wife, Diane, his daughter, Julia O'Brien Holbrook (Matthew), two grandsons, Maxwell Dean and Nathan Robert, and his brothers, John Thomas and Michael.
He served in the Marine Corps Reserves from 1947-1949. He enjoyed traveling, helping his friend, Craig, with his race cars, reading, history, nature, The Pacers, IU Basketball, his beautiful house in the woods, and his family. Bob and his wife, Diane, married in December, 1983.
Bob became a psychologist to work with young men in order to intervene in their troubled lives before it was too late. To this end, he worked at Indiana Boys School with the most disturbed youth hoping to make a difference. He then worked at the Reception and Diagnostic Center with incoming inmates.
Some of his favorite travel locations included those with historical significance including: Israel, the Greek Isles, and Mexico. He also enjoyed tent camping at Yellowwood State Forest in Brown County, Indiana where he taught his daughter how to fish.
Bob enjoyed many good memories of his daughter's childhood and he was sorry to have to leave his young grandsons so soon.
Bob left a trail of friends wherever he went, whether it was the gas station, auto parts store or his gym.
