Robin Jo Allen was born January 1, 1965 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Robin was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 25, 2017.
She was the youngest child of Melvin and Joan Allen. Robin received her education at Indianapolis Public School # 41 and graduated from North Central High School in 1983. Robin confessed her faith in Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church (727 Blake St.) under Rev. Toliver. Robin had natural beauty both inside and out. She had an incredible spirit that always brought smiles and laughter to any room that she entered. Rabin's smile was contagious. If you knew Robin, you knew that she had the straightest, whitest teeth that anyone could imagine.
Robin was very close to her sister April and brother Melvin Jr. She would always tell April "you're my favorite sister", April would reply, "Robin I'm your only sister". She would tell her brother "Butch" as she would sometimes call him, "you always got my back. One of Robin's favorite saying was "YOU'RE CRAZY".
Robin was very quiet, and had a very warm personality and she thoroughly enjoyed her family. Even though she was soft spoken and quiet, Robin was a black belt (Tae Kwon Do) which is the highest belt color and denotes the highest degree of competence.
Robin loved animals. She had two dogs Sparky and Cody. She was at her happiest when she was walking her dogs and listening to her old school music, riding on the back of motorcycles, and shopping. Robin was a certified nursing assistant at Indiana Mentor for disabled and handicapped children. Later she became a correctional officer for the Marion County Jail.
Robin leaves to cherish her memory, her loving mother and father Melvin and Joan Allen, sister April (John) Durant, brother Melvin Allen Jr., nephews John Lewis Jr., and Melvin Allen III, great niece Johnice Lewis, great nephew Mason Allen, special cousin Jerri Kinslow; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her as part of their family.
