Robin Anderson

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Baptist Church and Cathedral of Praise Bible way Church of God, where she served as a greeter and assisted with the young children.

Robin also volunteered her services at the Salvation Army Center, downtown where she served food and provided spiritual support and comfort to the needy (homeless and indigent).

Robin received her GED and earned a certificate in secretarial sciences. She also worked in healthcare as a nurse’s assistant for several years.

On February 1st, 1988, she wed John G. Anderson and was a caring and dedicated wife until his passing on August 24th, 1997.

She was a loving and caring mother to her four daughters; April Emerson-Jones, Gloria Emerson, Donna Emerson and Kimberly Anderson. Three sons; Calvin Emerson Jr., Duane Emerson and Mark Anderson.

Robin loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church for many years. She had a sweet voice and a brilliant smile and at times could be heard singing around her home. She loved animals, especially her dogs and birds and she owned several of both over the years. This also included hamsters.

Robin enjoyed her morning coffee and sweets and reading her daily newspaper. In earlier years she loved going to the spa with her good friends.

She possessed a great sense of humor, a warm, easy-going nature and strong character.

She enjoyed nice things and had good taste. No matter what she faced in life she was always a lady and an inspiration to her children and grandchildren with her strong faith.

God gently, lovingly called Robin to her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025. She was preceded in death by her late husband, John Gilbert Anderson, niece Demetria Parker and grandson Victor Lance Parker.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, four daughters; April Emerson Jones, Gloria Emerson, Donna Emerson, Kimberly Anderson, and three sons; Calvin Emerson Jr., Duane Emerson and Mark Anderson. Ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters; Dorothy Ann James of Indianapolis, Indiana and Rosemary Scott of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; devoted first cousins; Gayle Jones and Jeanette Ramey of Anderson Indiana and Rosemarie Hendrix-High of Sacramento, California; devoted niece; Marsh Jean Lee of Alta Loma, California and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends…and finally her dedicated four legged companion of nine years, “Toby”.

A visitation for Robin will be held Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM.
