

Born in Frankfort, Indiana, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jill (Turner); children, David and Kristi (Carmel); and grandchildren, Lucas, Marcus, and Livia Tranquilli (Pittsburgh). He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia, and his son, Jay. He was deeply involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren, always sharing his wisdom and guidance.
Ron earned a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from Butler University, Indianapolis, and an MBA from Xavier University, Cincinnati. He also attended St. Vincent Hospital School of Medical Technology. His healthcare career started with roles at Marion County General Hospital, St. Vincent Hospital, and as Assistant Administrator at Aliquippa Hospital. He was a former member of the American Pharmaceutical Association, Hospital Association of Pennsylvania, American Society of Clinical Pathologists and the American Hospital Association.
He owned and operated Walsh Drugs, where he was the pharmacist, and was a real estate owner with properties at 38th & Meridian.
He completed two Ironman triathlons, a testament to his quiet grit and determination.
Ron was a member of Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge #398 and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason of the Indianapolis Valley. A lifelong learner and avid reader, Ron was always educating himself, driven by endless curiosity. He studied several languages and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, boating, wildlife, ham radio, day trading, astronomy, photography and genealogy. He was a friend and mentor who shared books, articles, and wisdom with others. He and Jill traveled the world together, always seeking adventure and learning the culture from locals wherever they went.
A visitation for Ronald will be held Friday, May 23, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Crown Hill Funeral Home - Gothic Chapel, with visitation prior at 10:00 AM. Interment at Crown Hill Mausoleum.
