Rose Ellen (Hession) Hurrle
86, Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011. Rose’s home since 2008 was St. Paul’s Hermitage in
Beech Grove. Born in 1924 to Martin and Ellen (King) Hession, Rose was one of ten children. Rose attended Brownsburg Grade School and High School. Rose graduated as a registered nurse from St. Vincent Nursing School and served in the Cadet Nurse Corps at the Great Lakes Hospital Naval Hospital in Chicago during World War II. Rose married the late William P. Hurrle in 1947. Bill and Rose moved to Tucson, AZ in 1979 where their youngest son, Francis Xavier (deceased), attend the University of Arizona. They returned to Indianapolis in 2001. Rose is survived by six daughters: Donna Rose (Burch) Nunley, Mary Ann Hurrle, Theresa R. (Hugh) Dossett, Margaret E. Hurrle, Patricia R. (Bradley) Smith, Antoinette (V. Jo) Davisson; two sons, Stephen P. (Barb, deceased) and William J. (Liz) Hurrle; a brother, Bernard Hession and a sister, Ann Noblet; 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 10:30 am. Calling will be at the Church beginning at 9:00 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests sending memorial contributions to benefit the care of the elderly at St. Paul Hermitage, c/o Sister Sharon Bierman, 501 N. 17th Street, Beech Grove, IN 46107 or to benefit lung cancer research at Cancer-Free Lungs, Inc., c/o Dr. Nasser Hanna, Thoracic Oncologist, Box 27, Fishers, IN 46038 or lungsforlife5K.org.
